About the Course
If you’ve ever thought, “Why aren’t we understanding each other?”, you’re in the right place. This course invites both of you into safer, more successful communication. Inside, you’ll learn the Double Empathy Problem (DEP), a compassionate framework that explains why adult–child communication can miss the mark and how to rebuild mutual understanding. You’ll see what “safe” interaction looks like in real life, practice language that lowers defenses, and learn small relational shifts that create big differences at home, in the car, and during transitions. You’ll also pick up exactly-when-you-need-them tools: what DEP is and why it matters, how to spot when communication doesn’t feel safe (for you or your child), simple scripts to de-escalate and reconnect, ways to tailor your approach for both neurotypical and neurodivergent kids (5–15), strategies to reduce masking pressure and increase genuine understanding, and a top-to-bottom checklist to keep progress going. This course is for parents, carers, and professionals who want fewer battles and more connection—especially mums short on time but committed to what works. Enrollment includes a 30-minute closed-captioned micro-course, downloadable scripts and visuals with a printable quick-start checklist, access to a member-only community moderated by a speech pathologist for ongoing support, optional bundle/gift choices for friends or your school community, and a completion certificate.
